BEE ASSIGNMENT -2

                                                  BEE
                                                                  ASSIGNMENT-2
                                                           UNIT-2: NETWORK ANALYSYS
.      1. ( a ) write a short note on network reduction techniques.
(b) Explain types of elements in detail.
(c) Find the single equivalent resistance between a and b in the circuit shown below by network reduction techniques.

Ans:22.5Ω

 2.  (a) Write short notes on star – delta transformation. If Rab, Rbc and Rca are connected in delta, derive the expressions for equivalent star connection
       (b) Using star/delta and delta/star conversion, find the resistance between the terminals A and B as shown in figure

Ans:1.33Ω

 3.    (a) State and explain Superposition theorem.

        (b) Using superposition theorem determine the current through 12 Ω resistor
(All resistances are in Ω) as shown in figure.

4. (a) State and explain Thevenin's theorem. Explain significance of Thevenin’s theorem on network theory
     (b) By using Thevenin’s theorem determine the current through 5 Ω resistor (All resistances are in Ω) as shown in figure.

5. (a).State and explain Norton’s theorem
    (b)  Find the current through branch ‘be’ using Norton’s theorem

Ans:0.227A

6. (a) State and explain Maximum Power Transfer theorem.
    (b) Calculate the value of load resistor RL to be connected across terminals A and B which would draw the maximum power from the circuit and also find the maximum power in the circuit shown below.
